What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the clear and virtually invisible solution to straightening your teeth; through a series of custom-made, removable aligners to gradually move your teeth into the ideal position.

Advantages of Invisalign

Invisalign aligners are removable making it easier to brush and floss your teeth and maintain your oral hygiene during treatment

With Invisalign you have the freedom to eat, drink and chew all of your favourite foods, as you remove your aligners to eat and drink

You only need to attend dental appointments every 6-8 weeks to review your treatment, opposed to every 4 weeks with braces

Invisalign is virtually invisible, so you can straighten your teeth with confidence

You won’t have to worry about emergency dental visits due to braces brackets and wires breaking during treatment

Stay active in all of the activities and sports that you love to enjoy – Invisalign fits into your lifestyle

How does it work?

After an initial consultation, if you decide to proceed with Invisalign treatment we will take a series of impressions or 3D scans of your teeth that are sent to Invisalign, and your custom-made series of aligners are manufactured. Each person will have a specific case and the amount of aligners will vary for each treatment.

Once your aligners arrive you will come in for an appointment and have the first set fitted, we will talk you through the process of wearing your aligners and answer any questions you may have.

You wear each aligner for 2 weeks and then move to the next aligner in the set, each aligner is numbered to make it easy! We will usually provide you with 3 sets of aligners at a time, and have a review appointment at 6 weeks to check on progress and give you the next 3 sets if all is going well.

It is important to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours a day, only removing for eating and drinking – or if you have a special event!
